[SIDDHARTHA] male, 20s – early 30s, any ethnicity. Strong, contemporary rock tenor Bb2 to Bb4. Handsome, sexy, tall. A rebel but with a deep well of emotional availability. Needs to be able to carry a show where he almost never leaves the stage. Serious vocal chops required. Needs to have some movement ability and strong stage combat skills.

[SUDHODHANA] male, 40s – 50s, any ethnicity. Baritone rock singer to F4. Father of Siddhartha and king of Kapila. Strong commanding presence. Needs serious vocal chops.

[YASODHARA AND OTHERS] female, 20s, any ethnicity. Legit soprano with a contemporary sound to Ab5. Beautiful, kind and very strong willed young princess. Afterwards wife to Siddhartha. Must have a deep emotional vulnerability. Also doubles in ensemble.

[DEBADATTA, MARA AND OTHERS] male, 20s – early 30s, any ethnicity. Rock tenor to Ab4. Debadatta: rival to Siddhartha. Emotionally volatile, passionate and jealous. Mara: a sexy Rock god. Very charismatic. Also doubles in the ensemble. Must have strong stage combat skills.

[NANDA AND OTHERS] male, 20s, any ethnicity. Tenor to A4. Youthful, fun, exuberant, and hilarious. Our comic relief that also needs an ability to be emotionally vulnerable. Must dance. Also doubles in the ensemble.

[KRIDEVA AND OTHERS] male, 40s – 50s, any ethnicity. Baritone to E4. Advisor to the King and a surrogate father to Siddhartha. Also doubles in the ensemble.

[MALE ENSEMBLE 1] male, late 30s – 40s, any ethnicity. Baritone character actor.

[MALE ENSEMBLE 2] male, late 20s - 30s, any ethnicity. Tenor. Must be a dancer. Must have stage combat skills
