SEEKING:

Myriam:

Caucasian Female, 55. Jewish. Must be warm, earthy, dramatic, sexy, funny, smart and fierce. Able to make quick changes in temperament because that’s what makes Myriam so funny and endearing; she’s ranting one second and hugging the next. Myriam is complex, full of fury, irrational, but loving. A force of nature, compelling, and at times insufferable.

Nikki:

African American Female, 30s. Heritage is mixed race; seeking medium to light skinned actresses. Nikki is smart, brainy, earnest and sometimes even righteous. The humor with this character is rooted in that earnestness. She’s still trying to carve out her place in the world: her identity as separate from her mother, her identity as a mixed race woman, a theater person, a person with ideals, and a person of peace.

Jack:

Caucasian Male, 70. Jewish. Jack is reasonable, linear, traditional, decent and in the end, wise. The humor with this character lies in Jack trying to keep a quickly derailing train on track. At the end, he shows a depth that surprises us.

Kimiko:

Japanese Female, 30s. Kimiko is a convert to Judaism. Converts are always the most concerned with getting it right and letting everyone else know it. She is a perfectionist. Bourgeois, insecure, and dying for a little recognition.

Rachelle:

Caucasian Female, 18-22. Bulimic. Smart but mixed up. Needy and angry at her dad, but eating it down. Actress needs to be comfortable with outrageousness but must remain real and earnest.
