Friday, March 25, 2011 Pearl Studios NYC

10 AM – Equity male dancers 500 Eighth Avenue, 12th Floor

2 PM – Equity female dancers New York City

Please be warmed up and ready to dance when the call begins. Form-fitting dance attire. Jazz shoes (no sneakers). You may be asked to tap; bring tap shoes.

Some may be asked to stay and sing after all have danced. Please prepare 16 bars of a song, preferably from the “Golden Age of Musical Theatre” (e.g. Berlin, Porter, Loesser, Styne – possibly Lloyd-Webber (but no rock). SHOW VOCAL RANGE. Singing from the seasons’ shows is fine, but not required. Bring sheet music in the correct key (accompanist will not transpose). No scores are provided by the Theatres. Accompanist provided. Some may also be asked for 16 bars of another song.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back. Include a service- or cell-number on resume; e-mail address is also requested. Men with great acro: Highlight this on your resume.

All dates are in 2011. Specific chorus characters have been listed for some shows.

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT Music: Andrew Lloyd Webber. Book/Lyrics: Tim Rice. Dir: Norb Joerder. 1st reh (tentative): 6/7/11. Techs and runs in Tampa FL (dates TBD). Atlanta run: 6/21-6/26.

Joseph's Brothers:

Conniving, self-centered and jealous of Joseph. Brothers include Reuben (late 20s, baritone (low C to D)), Levi (mid 20s, baritone), Naphtali (mid 20s, tenor) and Benjamin (early 20s, baritone). Performers playing the brothers also play the following:

Pharoah: Late 20s. Elvis Presley impression.

    Baker: 25-30. Unfortunate. Fell out of favor with the Pharaoh. While in jail, he has a dream that he doesn't understand. Tenor (F to high G )

    Butler: 30s. Unfortunate. Fell out of favor with the Pharaoh. While in jail, he has a dream that he doesn't understand. F to high G.



FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Music: Jerry Bock. Lyrics: Sheldon Harnick. Book: Joseph Stein. Dir TBD. Mus Dir: John Visser. 1st reh (tentative): 6/27/11, in NYC. Opens in Wolf Trap VA: 7/14. Runs in Atlanta 7/19-7/24.

WHITE CHRISTMAS Score: Irving Berlin. Book: David Ives and Paul Blake. Dir: Norb Joerder. Mus Dir: John Visser. All dates TBD.

Ensemble (M/F):

Characters are early 20s – mid 30s. Performers should be equally strong in ballroom, theater jazz, and tap. ALL SING VERY WELL. 1940s-Hollywood-movie-musical dancing. Covers will come from ensemble. Ensemble characters include

Rita and Rhoda:

Mid 20s - early 30s. Bob and Phil's two star chorus girls. Brash, sexy, and fun -- although perhaps not the smartest.

"Jimmy's Back Room" Club-Goers, Train Passengers, Inn Guests, Chorus Kids, Regency Room Patrons.

Chorus members may also play Jimmy, Snoring Man, Train Conductor, Dance Captain, Ed Sullivan Announcer, Regency Room Announcer, Tessie, Cigarette Girl, Mrs. Snoring Man, Seamstress, Ass't Seamstress and Sheldrake's Secretary.

Martin Charnin. Book: Thomas Meehan. Dir/Choreo: Norb Joerder. 1st reh (tentative): 1/2/12 in Atlanta. Opens 1/14. Close TBD.

Ensemble characters include

Bert Healy:

20s. Radio megaphone crooner a lá Rudy Vallee; a natural, soft, untrained style pre-Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. Radio show host with millions of listeners. Performer plays other characters, too.
