Seeking:
Danny
Male, 27. A gay, middle-class, white, talented playwright. Forthright, arrogant and highly intelligent, he lacks wisdom, grace and sensitivity - especially in regards to views on race. Fervently defensive about his play, he is vulnerable and insecure and thus quick to anger. Despite all of this, however, he’s somewhat sympathetic. In a relationship with Pete.
Pete
Male, 27. Danny’s boyfriend. A real corporate individual/regular guy. Probably the all-star on the company soft ball team. Not a theatre insider, he’s supportive of Danny but realistic. He’s not snarky or snide, just usually right.
Trevor
Male, 27. A white actor, best friends with Danny. An all-around ‘good guy’ that could be described as ‘metrosexual.’ Possessing real wit. Supportive though practical, he falls for Emilie and his loyalty to Danny gets tested then fractured.
Emilie
Female, late 20s. A black actress with strong opinions. She knows what she wants. She possesses grace but can be overcome by great emotion, especially as she fights against the constraints Danny has put on her. Defensive, proud and idealistic.
