BREAKDOWN

This production is particularly interested in assembling a company with a range of ages and diversity of lived experiences that are well beyond the historical associations of ROCKY HORROR - to create the fullest possible representation of the madness and glory of San Francisco. All roles are completely open in terms of age/race/ability/superpowers. All roles require singing and dancing, but enthusiasm and gameness are ultimately much more important than experience or training. We promise. All performers should be comfortable improvising and talking to large crowds. This breakdown is simply a jumping off point for casting. We are excited to have our minds blown in the casting process and everything we are planning to be destroyed.

USHERETTE/MAGENTA, age 50+, Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt, Bb3-Eb5. A science fiction lover and dedicated long-time volunteer usher with a quiet passion for lace and leather.

BRAD, around 30 Range: Bari Tenor, Bb2-G4. A hero who is very much in love with his fiancé, Janet. Up to this point, Brad hasn't had many bad things happen in his life.

JANET, around 30 Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt, A3-Eb5; A heroine who is very much in love with Brad. Janet loves to win, and everybody liked her in high school.

NARRATOR, any age, A lover of Sci Fi. Must be comfortable improvising and managing large groups of people.

RIFF RAFF, any age, Range: High Rock Tenor, D3-B4, An emcee of sorts. Capable of jumping into the spotlight as quickly as they disappear into the shadows. Also, an alien.

COLUMBIA, any age, Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt, E4-E5, A groupie

FRANK 'N' FURTER, any age, Range: Baritone, D3-G4, A master of the castle and seduction. A singular presence with a huge sense of humor and the absurd and an even bigger heart.

ROCKY, under 40, Range: Tenor, A3-G4, Frank’s magnificent creation. An electric physical performer. All body types encouraged to submit.

EDDIE/DR. SCOTT, any age, Range: Baritone, E3-F#4, An ex-delivery boy and later a scientist. A versatile and stadium-scaled performer who can go from 0-10 on a dime.

4 PHANTOMS/TRANSILVANIANS, A group of totally individual singers, movers, personalities, and specialty performers that authentically embody a wild and queer party spirit. Performers with established identities/alter-egos are encouraged to attend.
