Please prepare two brief contrasting monologues of no more than two minutes total. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.
A son’s elusive search for his mother’s happiness, the play is an exchange of letters between the two characters.
Seeking:
Mrs. Levine:
An overbearing Jewish mother in her mid 50s. She is ultra-possessive, does not take responsibility for her actions, is extremely gullible and likely to try any “choice” presented to her. She is extremely domineering, however she is sane. She is searching for “who she is.”
Sheldon:
The 31 year old son of Mrs. Levine, he is a put-upon dysfunctional runaway searching for “who he is.”
He thinks that he is searching for his mother's happiness, although he is searching for his own.
