Geva Theatre Center

CONTRACT

LORT Non-Rep $941 weekly minimum (LORT B)

SEEKING

[JANINE] (Female, Caucasian, Mid 50’s-60’s) Janine is a tenured, well-traveled professor of history at “an elite and storied research university in the Northeast.” She is well-respected, independent, ambitious; considers herself a feminist, and has made her way, successfully through a male-dominated field. She analyzes situations from every angle before reaching a conclusion, often playing devil’s advocate. She may be set in her ways, although she would not admit it. She believes progress takes time.

[ZOE] (Female, African-American, 19) Zoe is a sophomore at the university. She is ambitious, inquisitive, and intelligent. Zoe is frustrated with a higher education that white washes American history. A member of the Cross Cultural Alliance and an activist, Zoe is interested in challenging the status quo and the purpose of liberal academic bastions. She believes progress is not happening fast enough.
