Ellard:

20s/30s - as described by the playwright, a seemingly backward youth who spends much of his time kneading something tiny and invisible in front of his chest. Awkward, simple, genuine, good comedic sense. An unlikely hero who rises to the occasion despite his limitations. Authentic Southern accent (rural Georgia).
