Onstage: $655/week minimum. Understudies/Improv Actors: $131 per day minimum, + health contribution for each five days worked.

1st rehearsal in early April. Show runs from April 16 to September 3, seven daytime performances daily, five days/week, on Ellis Island.

Seeking ten actors (M/F); a DIVERSE cast to play multiple roles. Must be proficient in multiple dialects (Irish, Italian, Jewish, Slovenian, Hispanic, African American, Asian, among others). Singing and improvisational skills a plus. Some performers will be hired as understudies/ improvisational actors to actively promote the show. Most roles perform multiple characters. Young Emily:
Modern female, in late teens or early 20s, must play multiple roles including teenager. Can be any ethnic group (Irish, Italian, Hispanic, African American, Indian or Asian) Improvisational skills a plus.
Adult Emma Lazarus:
Female, in 30s, must play adult Emma Lazarus (who is American educated and literary), a tourist and young Emily’s mother (any ethnic group) and Constance Cary Harrison. Also will play ensemble roles of Ellis Island immigrants of varying ages, nationalities and genders. Improvisational skills a plus.
Adult Male:
30s. Seeking male actor who can play a tourist, Mark Twain, Slovenian immigrant Louis Adamic, Senator William Maxwell Evarts from New York, Hispanic reporter Jose Marti and a Judge of poetry contest. Must be able to play ensemble roles of various Ellis Island immigrants of varying ages, nationalities and genders. Improvisational skills a plus.
