Five-minute appointments. Prepare two Shakespeare pieces (at least one in verse), totaling three minutes. Also prepare one piece by Tennessee Williams. Appropriate pieces from the season’s plays are encouraged.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back. Attach a note with any scheduling conflicts.

Notes:

  • Equity Stage Managers are welcome to attend (bring resume), and will be briefly interviewed.
  • Callbacks are planned for Monday, 5/23, 1-7 PM.
  • All roles are available (i.e. not yet offered and accepted).

Macbeth:

Man, mid 30s – mid 40s. Gentleman soldier.

Macduff / Witch:

Male, late 20s – early 40s. Gentleman soldier.

Lady Macbeth:

Female, 30s - 40s. Aspiring, childless, careerless wife to Macbeth.

Banquo / Doctor / Soldier / Witch:

Male, 50s-60s. Elder soldier.

Malcolm / Witch:

Male, 20s. Young royal soldier.

Lady Macduff / Gentlewoman / Messenger / Witch:

Female, 20s-30s. Noble mother and wife of Macduff / Attendant to Lady Macbeth / Frightened servant.

Duncan / Porter / Menteith / Witch:

Male, late 40s–60s. Scottish King / Drunken clown / Experienced soldier.

Old Man / Siward / Murderer / Witch:

Male, 50s-70s. Elder and compassionate citizen / Senior soldier / Experienced killer.

Donalbain / Seyton / Angus / Witch:

Male, 20s. Young royal soldier / Macbeth’s servant / Life-long warrior.

Lennox / Bloody Captain / Witch:

Male, 30s-50s. Both experienced soldiers.

Man or woman, 50s–60s. Rightful Duke or Duchess of Milan. Parent to Miranda, with magic.

Miranda:

Female, late teens – 20s. Shipwrecked innocent.

Caliban:

Male, 20s–30s. Physically huge island native, taken captive.

Ariel:

Female or male, 20s-30s. Prospero’s airy spirit. Physically acrobatic and petite. Can sing.

Alonso:

Man, 50s-70s. King of Naples.

Stephano:

Man, 20s–60s. Drunken, shipwrecked butler, seeking the island’s “kingship”. A clown.

Trinculo:

Male or female, 20s–30s. Shipwrecked, frightened court jester. A fool.

Gonzalo:

Man, late 40s–70s. Honest, noble counselor.

Sebastian:

Man, 30s–40s. Alonso’s inept brother. Has murderous intentions.

Antonio:

Man, 30s–40s. Prospero’s usurping brother. Has murderous intentions.

Ferdinand:

Male, late teens – 20s. Alonso’s royal son. In love with Miranda.

Juno / Ship Master

Female, 20s–40s. Juno: An island goddess. Master: Ship commander.

Boatswain:

Male or female, 20s–30s.

The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. 1st reh: 4/17/12. Runs 5/9 – 5/27/12.

Amanda Wingfield:

50s. Former Southern belle. Single mother raising her two grown children with unweening love, devotion and tumult.

Tom Wingfield:

Early 30s. The family poet, with a different lifestyle and dream from those of his parents. Adores his sister.

Laura Wingfield:

Late 20s. Unspectacular daughter and sister, with both physical and mental fragility. Waiting.

Jim O’Connor:

Early 30s. Former high school superstar. Now clerking with Tom. Creating a future for himself while, unwittingly, becoming the hopeful dream of the Wingfield women.
