ENSEMBLE:
This 10-person ensemble (5 men, 5 women) will play the rest of the supporting roles in the show, including Big Daddy Brubeck and Ursula. All will play dance-hall hostesses in Big Spender and all will play upscale, men’s-club patrons in Rich Man’s Frug. In neither case will we mock the material – but rather have actors playing different-gender roles with abandon. We are looking for fantastic dancers who sing exceptionally well - and who are unique, creative actors.
Chorus characters include
Big Daddy Brubeck (30’s) the new-age, enigmatic leader of the Rhythm of Life Church, which is a hippie, pot-smoking spirtual cult of sorts. Sammy Davis Junior meets Superfly – he’s quite the charismatic entertainer. Baritone
Ursula (25-35) a supermodel-beautiful Italian film starlet who frequently, publicly feuds with her fiancé - matinee idol Vittorio Vidal. Aggressive, spoiled, and dramatically romantic. Speaks with an Italian accent.
