Please prepare 32 bars of a song from the R&B / pop / funk / soul era that shows off your voice and range. Bring sheet music in the correct key; accompanist is provided, but may not transpose. In addition to singing, all should prepare sides, which will be provided at the audition (although not all will be asked to read).

AVAILABLE ROLE. African American woman, 20s. Ideally, height will be SHORTER than 5’7”. HAS GREAT BEAUTY AND SEXUAL ENERGY. Fabulous singer – the headline performer at Scatter’s Harlem Nightclub and Restaurant. Georgia is the feminine complement to Priest’s prowess – gentle and loving, sexy and smart – she matches him in sexuality, fearlessness and heart. College-educated, she is “the little shining light of hope” in Priest’s dark life that guides him to freedom and a new life, and she is unafraid to risk her own life in the process. Must be a strong actress able to handle the female lead in the show (book scenes and solos).
