Equity actors for roles in Actors' Playhouse's 2026-27 Season. See breakdown for production specific dates.

PREPARATION

Please prepare two contrasting selections, bringing sheet music in the appropriate key; an accompanist will be provided. No acapella singing or singing to playback. If not singing: 2 contrasting 1-minute monologues OR one 2-minute monologue. All actors please bring a copy of your headshot and resume. An Equity Monitor will be provided.

JEKYLL & HYDE

  • HENRY JEKYLL / EDWARD HYDE (Male 30-50: Bb2-A4) - a doctor obsessed with discovering the true nature behind the good and evil in man and Emma's fiancée.
  • EMMA CAREW (Female 20-35, A3-C6) - Refined and desired by all socialite men, she is an elegant young woman who makes Jekyll feel wanted and loved.
  • LUCY HARRIS (Female 20-35, G#3-F#5) - The ‘main attraction’ at The Red Rat, becoming the object of Hyde's obsession.
  • GABRIEL JOHN UTTERSON (Male 30-50, B2-F#4) - Serves as Jekyll's lawyer and helpful friend.
  • SIR DANVERS CAREW (Male 60-70, C3-F#4) - Emma's loving father and Chairman of the Board of Governors.
  • SIMON STRIDE (Male 30-50, A2-G4) - Secretary of the Board of Governors, bitter rival for Emma's affections.
  • LADY BEACONSFIELD (Female) - A member of the Board with contempt for most of society.

  • LORD SAVAGE (Male) - A member of the Board who makes snide observations.
  • GENERAL LORD GLOSSOP (Male 50-60, G#3-C4) - A pompous retired Army General.
  • SIR ARCHIBALD PROOPS (Male) - A lawyer on the Board, quick and methodical.
  • NELLIE (Ensemble) - A sex worker with street smarts.
  • SPIDER (Ensemble) - Nasty manager of The Red Rat.
  • POOLE (Ensemble) - Jekyll’s loyal butler.
  • BISSET (Ensemble) - An apothecary from whom Jekyll purchases chemicals.
