There are currently no SM or ASM positions available.

PREPARATION

Please prepare one short song in the style of, or from the show you are interested in. You are also welcome to sing two very brief (approx. 16 bars each) instead. Total audition time should not exceed 2 minutes.

Bring book of music and a photo and resume.

Zach: Dynamic and charismatic director/choreographer of a Broadway show. Driven and at times coldly manipulative. Mid 30’s-early 40s. Actor who dances. Any Ethnicity.

Larry: Zach’s assistant. Masculine and efficient. Late 20s-mid 30s. Must be an accomplished dancer. Any Ethnicity.

Mike: Accomplished Italian American dancer who sings well. Athletic and masculine with a street- wise charm. Mid 20’s. Tenor. Acrobatics a plus.

Richie: Accomplished African American dancer who sings well. Extremely energetic. Mid 20’s. Tenor. Flexibility and basic Acrobatic skills a plus.

Paul: Accomplished actor who dances well. Italian or Hispanic in appearance. Slight and sensitive with a natural grace. Mid 20’s-30’s. Tenor.

Mark: Accomplished dancer who sings well. The youngest male on the line. Boyish and likeable. Late teens-early 20’s.

Greg: Accomplished dancer who sings. Highly sophisticated, wry and intelligent with a decidedly wicked wit. Out and proud. Late 20’s- early 30s.

Bobby: Accomplished dancer who sings well. Caucasian. White collar in appearance; He has a quirky almost outrageous comedic sense, yet, remains immensely likeable. Mid-late 20’s.

Al: Accomplished dancer who sings well. Tough, street-wise and overtly masculine. Married to Kristine. Mid-late 20’s.

Cassie: Dynamic “Star” dancer who sings extremely well. Ex-lover of Zach seeking to restart her career. Strong and charismatic actress. Early-mid 30’s. Soprano.

Sheila: Accomplished actress who dances well. Beautiful showgirl with a killer body and an even more killer wit. Early-mid 30’s. Alto.

Val: Accomplished dancer who sings well. Smart, sassy, and immensely sure of herself with a killer body; yet the girl next door. Mid-late 20’s. Mezzo.

Diana: Accomplished dancer who sings well. Hispanic in appearance. Warm, energetic, and extremely likeable. Mid-late 20’s. Mezzo.

Judy: Accomplished dancer who sings well. Energetic, quirky and decidedly offbeat. Prefer 5’7 and up. Mid 20’s. Soprano.

Bebe: Accomplished dancer who sings well. Natural and unaffected – a bit of an ugly duckling. Mid-late 20s. Mezzo.

Kristine: Accomplished dancer/actress who sings. Married to Al. Quirky, comedic sensibility. Exhibits an extreme amount of nervous energy. Mid 20’s. Alto.

Maggie: Accomplished dancer who sings very well. Likeable girl next door; shy and sensitive. Soprano with a solid mix/belt to E.

Rehearsal: June 30 – July 17 Opens: July 17. Closes: August 16

Albin/Zaza: Leading male performer of star quality; mid 40s-mid 50s; He is the “star” of La Cage, “wife” to Georges, and “mother” to Jean-Michel. Fine comic actor who will perform 50% of his role in drag as Zaza. Great powerhouse of a Broadway voice. Baritone who moves very well. French dialect a plus.

Georges: Leading male performer of star quality; late 40s-mid 50s. He is the “owner and MC” of La Cage, “husband” to Albin, and father of Jean-Michel. Charismatic, energetic, and romantically attractive. Also loving and caring. Strong Baritone who moves very well. French dialect a plus.

Jean-Michel: Handsome adult son of Georges and Albin, mid 20s. Masculine, well-mannered, and educated. He is desperately in love with his fiancée, Anne. Must sing and move very well. Lyric Baritone. French dialect a plus.

Jacob: Black or Hispanic male butler/“maid” to Georges and Albin; mid 20s-30s. Sassy, adorable, extremely energetic, he is desperate to be a Cagelle. A brilliant comic actor who sings and moves well.

Francis: Adorably harried male stage manager at La Cage; mid 30s. In love with Hanna. Strong actor/dancer featured in the “Masculinity” number.

Patsy: Accomplished vocalist well-versed in Country/Western styles who can create a credible physical and vocal impersonation of the late great Patsy Cline; late 20s- 30s. Curvy, earthy, and energetic – a real firecracker. Mezzo/Contralto.
