Equity actors for roles in SONGS ABOUT TRAINS (see breakdown). Experience devising theater a plus.

Local actors encouraged to submit.

BREAKDOWN

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Please slate your name, preferred gender pronouns, and where you are based.

2. Please share a sample of your playing an instrument (preferably guitar/bass/violin/percussion).

3. Please also tell a story about one of the following:

Tell a story about when you felt the most alone and why and what happened

Tell a story about when you built something that really mattered to you

Tell a story about your favorite song and how it came to be that way

4. Please make sure you are in a well-lit area (with a simple background if possible) where we can clearly hear you. For the slate, Start with a full-body shot and zoom in or cut to a close-up (bottom of the frame should be at the shoulders and leave a sliver of space above the head for the top frame). The audition can be in a medium wide shot, not too close but not too far.

SEEKING:

TRACK #1: Black, Male identifying, any age. Plays guitar, bass, banjo, violin, and percussions, but open to other instruments as well. This track will use song and movement to story tell - Sings (in the style of folk) and moves well.

TRACK #2: Male, Chinese identifying, any age. Vocalist who can speak/sing in Cantonese. Plays guitar, bass, banjo, violin, and percussions, but is open to other instruments as well.

TRACK #3: Latine, any gender, any age. Vocalist who can speak/sing in Spanish and has familiarity with Mexican musical styles. Plays guitar, bass, banjo, violin, and percussions, but is open to other instruments as well.

TRACK #4: Native/Indigenous (preferably Diné/Navajo), any gender/age. Plays guitar, bass, violin, and percussions, but open to other instruments as well. This track will use song and movement to story tell. Sings (in the style of folk) and moves well.

TRACK #5: Irish American, identifies as a person of color. Familiar with/comfortable with playing Irish folk music (jigs, reels, etc). Plays guitar, bass, banjo, violin, and percussion, but open to other instruments as well. This track will use song and movement to story tell - Sings (in the style of folk) and moves well.

TRACK #6: Person of Color, any gender, any age. Vocalist/guitarist/mulit-instrumentalist who is comfortable playing/learning bass/banjo/charago — other instruments encouraged! Note: Please submit if you identify as an Actor/Musician and include which instrument(s) you play.

TRACK #7 - Male identifying, Person of Color, mid 30's. Plays guitar, bass, violin, and percussions, but open to other instruments as well. This track will use song and movement to story tell. Sings and moves well. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST.
