Equity musical theatre performers for principal and ensemble.

This call is for Adult Equity Performers only. A children's audition for the roles of Young Don and Young Cosmo will be held at a later time.

Preparation
Prepare a brief song in the style of the show that best showcases your acting ability and vocal range. Bring sheet music; accompanist provided.

AEA members will have a minimum of two minutes.

Bring picture and resume stapled together

Other Dates
Callbacks will be Friday, April 25th.

Rehearsals begin July 22nd and are held every afternoon and evening, including weekends, until opening.
Performances are August 7-17, Thursday through Sunday.

Other
EMC points available. EMCs and Non-Equity actors will be seen as time permits whenever no Equity Member is auditioning or waiting to audition.

Breakdown

This is an Adult Equity Performer Audition. A non-union children's audition for the roles of Young Don and Young Cosmo will be held at a later time.

Seeking:

Don Lockwood
Silent matinee idol, who oozes charisma. Must convincingly woo Kathy and the audience with his wit and charm. He has come from lowly beginnings but he weaves a story to help create his own movie career, where his reality merges with his screen persona.

Kathy Seldon
A young and up-coming actress who isn’t dazzled by Don’s star status. Forthright, honest and determined and should be independent and smart.

Cosmo Brown
An excellent verbal and physical comedian, he is Don’s best friend from childhood.

Lina Lammont
Uber glamorous silent screen star, off screen a crass and brash women with the famously annoying voice. A strong comedienne.

R.F. Simpson
Head of Monumental Pictures, a powerful yet likeable businessman.

Roscoe Dexter
Highly strung film director for Monumental Pictures, comedic character doesn’t deal with stress well.

Dora Bailey
A society radio reporter and gossip columnist. Ruby Wax meets Mrs. Merton, she is the public eyes and ears in Hollywood.

Male Diction Coach
Don’s diction coach.

Miss Dinsmore
Lina’s frustrated vocal coach.

Other named characters and bit parts will be played by the singing and dancing ensemble.

The children's dancing roles of Young Don and Young Cosmo will be auditioned at a later time.
