4 (Male, 30s–40s; White) — Doubles multiple roles. Warm, ebullient, emotionally transparent.
5 (Male, 20s or younger; person of color) — 1's older brother Patrick. Has been sick before him. Narrates 1's experience in second person throughout — until, near the end, he is finally seen.
