The Globe Theatre 3/2/12-4/15/12 From the beloved novel that inspired the Academy Award-winning film comes an enchanting new musical. Amid the golden sunlight and violet-covered hills of Tuscany, sheltered English girl Lucy Honeychurch meets freethinking George Emerson. For the first time, she glimpses a world of longing and passion she never imagined. Back in her corseted Edwardian life, Lucy must decide whether to yield to convention or give up everything she has ever known. Comic, romantic, satirical and real, A Room with a View blends a gorgeous score with this timeless story that gives a new voice to these unforgettable characters. These roles will not be understudied Available roles: MR. EMERSON-A working class man of a certain age, frail of constitution but robust in spirit. GEORGE- A brooding young man who always seems like he’d be happier outside kicking a ball. CHARLOTTE-An Edwardian lady. A spinster of a certain age. Simultaneously upright and buttoned-down LUCY: An Edwardian lady. An unformed, restless nineteen-year-old. A butterfly struggling to be liberated from a cocoon. REVEREND BEEBER- A clergyman so repressed he seems crammed into his own skin like a sausage. ELEANAOR LAVISH/MRS HONEYCHURCH- Eleanor Lavish: A middle-aged woman. Playful as a kitten, though without a kitten’s grace Mrs. Honeychurch: Lucy’s addlepated mother. A clucking hen of a woman FREDDY/THE OTHER MISS ALAN- Freddy: Lucy’s brother, a rambunctious 17 year old. The other Miss Alan: A fluffy old lady, proudly Victorian. ITALIANO/CECIL- Italiano: Lean, Lupine, Sex oozing from every pore Cecil: resembles those fastidious Gothic statues who guard the portals of a French cathedral, but with a pince-nez perched on his aquiline nose. RAGAZZ/MINNIE/MISS ALAN- Ragazz: A beauty straight out of a Renaissance painting. The Italiano’s Girlfriend. Minnie: The Honeychurch’s maid. Young and simple minded and tone deaf. Miss Alan: A fluffy old lady, proudly Victorian. ANNA CHRISTIE: Playwright: Eugene O’Neil, Director:Daniel Goldstein. The White Theatre 3/10/12-4/15/12 These roles will not be understudied Eugene O’Neill’s poetic masterpiece won him his second Pulitzer Prize. ANNA CHRISTIE is a gripping account of the relationship between an old sailor and the daughter he hasn’t seen in almost twenty years. Their new bond becomes strained when she falls in love with a young man whose seafaring life isn’t what her father wants for her. When Anna reveals to both men the shameful secret she has been harboring, they come to understand the harsh reality of her past and show her compassion, love and forgiveness. Available Roles: ANNA CHRISTOPHERSON: Early 20s – Could once have been beautiful, but a difficult life got in her way. A survior, she has carved out an existence for herself, but resents her lot and wishes for an easier path. Is well aware of her feminine charms and uses them to her advantage. She sees the angles, knows how to protect herself, but the little girl inside still yearns for a fairy tale. CHRIS CHRISTOPHERSON – 50s plus – Stocky, fireplug of a man. Swedish descent with heavy accent. A sailor all his life, raised on the harshness of the sea. Gregarious and affable, but that belies an inner passion that burns hot to anger and smolders to sadness. LARRY THE BARTENDER – 20s/30s – Boyish barkeep in a waterfront tavern. Polite, literate, working his way through life. MARTHY OWEN – 40s/50s – A hard used woman of the docks. Time has not been kind to her, nor has her life, but beneath her rough hewn exterior lives a youthful exuberance which can’t help but remain undeterred. She’s learned to be guarded, but does not fail to keep dreaming. MAT BURKE – about 30 – A towering, brute of a man. Irish. A coal-man of the sea. Aware of his physical power and happy to exert it, he is a simple man of limited outward subtly. Inside, however, lies the soul of a poet, a romantic, who cannot seem to escape its hulking cage. His passions run deep and for all his muscles, he lacks the dexterity to control his emotions. NOBODY LOVES YOU: Music & Lyrics: Gaby Alter, Book & Lyrics: Itamar Moses, Director: Michelle Tattenbaum.
