Maltz Jupiter Theatre is one of the theatres participating in the FPTA Auditions.
For Dramatic Auditions prepare two monologues, no more than three minutes total.
For Musical Auditions prepare either a brief song (musical theatre, pop/rock, or gospel) or 16 bars of a song (musical theatre, pop/rock, or gospel) and a one-minute contemporary monologue. An accompanist is provided on both days.
As other theatres will also be represented at these auditions, to be considered for all, please bring 25 copies of Picture and Résumé, glued or copied together.

Dolly Gallagher Levi:
(40 – 60 yrs) A charming meddling matchmaker. A widow in her middle years who has decided to begin her life again. Excellent comic timing. A wide range of vocal abilities will be considered.
Horace Vandergelder:
(45 - 65 yrs) Proprietor of a Hay & Feed store and a client of Dolly Levi. A widower of some means. Comic baritone singing.
Irene Molloy:
(25 - 40 yrs) A milliner with a Hat Shop in New York City. Dolly has introduced her to Horace Vandegelder but she yearns for romance. A legit or high belt voice.
Cornelius Hackl:
(25 – 40 yrs) Vandergelder’s chief clerk who yearns for one exciting day in NYC. Some legit baritone singing. Good comic timing.
Minnie Fay:
(18 – 30 yrs) A young girl who works in Irene’s hat shop. Comic skills a must.
Barnaby Tucker:
(18 - 30 yrs) An assistant to Cornelius at Vandergelder’s Hay & Feed store. Strong physical comic.
Ermengarde:
(16 – 25 yrs) The young niece of Horace Vandergelder. She cries often and wants her independence. Featured Dancer.
Abrose Kemper:
(18 – 25 yrs) An explosive young artist seeking to marry Ermengard. Featured dancer.
FEATURED ENSEMBLE PARTS
Earnestina Money:
(25 – 45 yrs) An eccentric looking girl in need of Dolly’s matchmaker services. Good comic timing.
Rudolf Reisenweber:
(30 – 65 yrs) The major-domo of the Harmonia Gardens Restaurant.
Mrs. Rose:
(40-70yrs) Sells vegetables and a friend of Dolly’s from years before.
Judge:
(30-65yrs) White whiskered night court judge. Easily moved to tears by romance.
Strong singer/dancer/actors:
For the ensemble and to play featured character parts throughout the show. Needed types include: NYC townspeople, feed store customers, Harmonia Gardenscustomers, waiters and staff, various colorful 14th Street Parade characters.
