FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.
1st rehearsal 9/24; runs 10/22-12/2
TEVYE: (40-50, Baritone/Bass) Loving, hardworking father; faithfully leads family in Jewish tradition. Humble, wise.
GOLDE: (35-45, Mezzo/Alto) Sarcastic, domineering, loving wife of Tevye. Hardworking mother to 5 daughters.
TZEITEL: (18-22, Mezzo, dance required) Eldest daughter. Responsible, lively.
HODEL: (16-20, Soprano, dance required) 2nd-eldest. Strongwilled & sarcastic, like her mother.
CHAVA: (Mezzo, 14-18, dance required) 3rd daughter. Gentle, intelligent, dreamer.
SHPRINTZE & BIELKE: (8-12) Youngest daughters. Youthful and sweet.
MOTEL: (18-25, high baritone) Poor, humble tailor. Childhood love of Tzeitel.
PERCHIK: (18-25, legit tenor, dance required) Handsome, arrogant, driven student with revolution on his mind.
FYEDKA: (16-21, non-singing) Russian with gentle heart; shares Chava's love of reading.
YENTE: (45-60, Alto) Nosy village matchmaker. Meddling, bossy.
LAZAR WOLF: (40-60, tenor) Village butcher.
FRUMA-SARAH: (35-45) Lazar Wolf's 1st wife, now dead.

TRACY TURNBLAD: Female Caucasian, to play teenage."Pleasantly plump"; dreams of fame, fights to racially integrate The Corny Collins Show. Strong pop belt singer; great mover.
EDNA TURNBLAD: Male to play female Caucasian, 40s-50s. Tracy's kind, plus-sized mother; runs laundry business out of her home. Need funny, grand character actor with singing ability to convincingly play a woman.
WILBUR TURNBLAD: Male Caucasian, 40s-50s. Tracy’s father, owns the Har-De-Har Hut joke shop and is madly in love with his wife, Edna. Encourages Tracy to follow her dreams.
LINK LARKIN: Male Caucasian, to play teenage. Heartthrob; one of The Corny Collins Show Council Members; falls in love with Tracy. Strong pop singer; great mover.
SEAWEED STUBBS: Male African American, to play teenage. Hip"Negro Day" dancer; son of Motormouth Maybelle; falls in love with Penny. Strong, soulful tenor pop singer; great mover.
AMBER VON TUSSLE: Female, Caucasian, to play teenage. Bratty, selfish resident princess of The Corny Collins Show. Strong pop belt singer; great mover.
PENNY PINGLETON: Female, Caucasian, to play high school age. Tracy's slightly dorky, devoted, perky best friend. Strong pop belt singer & mover.
CORNY COLLINS: Male, Caucasian, 30s. Eccentric, cocky host of The Corny Collins
Show; handsome, charming, engaging, smooth. Strong pop singer.
MOTORMOUTH MAYBELLE: Female, African American, 40s-50s. Owner of record shop and host of"Negro Day" on The Corny Collins Show, self-described as"big, blonde and beautiful.” Strong, soulful gospel/pop singer.
VELMA VON TUSSLE: Female, Caucasian, 40s-50s. Amber's scheming mother; producer of The Corny Collins Show, who pushes her daughter to seek the stardom she never had. Good character singer.
LITTLE INEZ: Female, African American, to play early teens. Seaweed's younger sister, who tries to audition for The Corny Collins Show. Strong Broadway/pop singer & mover.
MALE AUTHORITY FIGURE: Male, Caucasian, 40s-50s. (1) Mr. Pinky, owner of Mr. Pinky's Hefty Hideaway; (2) Principal of Patterson Park High School; (3) Harriman F. Spritzer, President of Ultra Clutch Hairspray.
FEMALE AUTHORITY FIGURE: Female, Caucasian, 40s-50s. (1) Matron guarding The Big Dollhouse; (2) Gym Teacher; (3) Prudy Pingleton: Penny's overprotective and often close-minded mother.
THE COUNCIL: Teenage singers/dancers on The Corny Collins Show.
SEAWEED'S PALS: Male & Female African American singers and dancers to play teen roles.
THE DYNAMITES: 3 African American female singer/dancers inspired by the Supremes. Should have glorious pop/gospel singing voices and move well.
ENSEMBLE: Male & female dancers with strong pop singing voices & great personalities.

THE BIKINIS!
1st rehearsal 1/30/12; runs 2/24-3/18
JODI: (30s-50ish) Annie’s younger (or older) sister. Originally from Paramus, NJ. In control; passive-aggressive. Corporate success with failed marriage. Vocally gravitates to pop world.
ANNIE: (40s-50ish). Jodi’s older sister; bit of a hippie. Also originally from Paramus. Never married. Took care of parents in Florida. Folk rock ‘n’ roller, lover of causes.
KARLA: (40s-50ish), any ethnicity. Jodi & Annie’s fun-loving cousin from Philly. Wild as a teenager, still likes to stir it up. Loves husband of 25 years. Vocally lives in rock/pop world.
BARBARA: (40s-50ish), any ethnicity. Best friend from Staten Island. Says what she thinks with no apologies.

FLANNAGAN'S WAKE

THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA

MARGARET JOHNSON: (40s-50s; Legit soprano [G below middle C up to G#]). Upper middle class woman from Winston-Salem, NC in early 1950s. Warm, appealing with dry. self deprecating sense of humor. Southern accent.
CLARA JOHNSON: (26; Strong legit soprano [low A, strong belt/mix to high E with nice ring]) appears younger than she is. Has mental and emotional skills of a 12-yr-old. Open, charming, always in the moment. Southern accent.
FABRIZIO NACCERELLI: (early 20s; Lyrical tenor to high B) Handsome Italian boy. Innocent, pure & sweet. Speaks very little English. Most dialogue is Italian and broken English.
GIUSEPPE NACCERELLI (Late 20s-mid 30s, Baritone) Fabrizio's older brother. Only speaks Italian. Married to Franca but pursues other women. Not terribly bright.
FRANCA NACCERELLI (20s-mid 30s; Legit Soprano) Giuseppe's passionate, sexy
wife. Think Gina Lollabrigida.
SIGNOR NACCERELLI: (mid 40s-50s, Baritone) Fabrizio's father. Very smooth; speaks English very well.
SIGNORA NACCERELLI (Mid 40s-50s, legit Soprano) Fabrizio's mother. Dutiful, traditional Italian wife and mother but has own thoughts about everything. Primarily speaks Italian.
ROY JOHNSON (40s to 50s, Baritone) Margaret's husband. Executive with tobacco company in Winston-Salem. Emotionally unavailable; cool. Southern accent.

SHARKTOOTH THE PIRATE: foreboding, scowling grin; wears patch on eye, but is “sensitive guy”
PIRATE PIERRE: French accent; ship’s cook, enjoys French cuisine
MAX THE PIRATE: wears stuffed parrot on his shoulder
PIRATE SEYMOUR BRAUNSCHWAGGER: typical Pirate First Mate
PIRATE SCURVY DOG: typical Pirate Second Mate with tendency to “bark”

If you are interested in a particular role, please prepare 32 bars of a song that the character sings and prepare a second contrasting Broadway/Musical Theatre song of your choice. Bring sheet music in your key (available on website); an accompanist will be provided. Bring headshot and resume.
