Seeking: Giulia - late-30s, early-40s Italian American woman, pretty, personable, smart. Even though born and bred in Brooklyn and raised by first-generation Italian immigrants, she is not a stereotype. She is a mix of old school Italian culture and urbane Manhattanite. Giulia is down-to-earth and practical. She went to Catholic school, Sarah Lawrence and has worked at some of the city's top magazines and publishers. Despite her successes in business, she is a repeated failure at love. This causes a tension as she is very self-assured with her cooking (which she uses to lure and keep men) and insecure about herself and the state of her relationships. Actor must have a great sense of humor, winning personality and - very important - be comfortable making and cooking Italian food from scratch while acting in this solo show.

Theatre’s statement: “We consider actors of all races and ethnicities.”
