New York Classical Theatre (NYC) Transition Contract; $109/week (15 hour min. week)**

Rehearsals: June 6 – July 5. Governors Island 1-6pm weekdays, 1-7 weekends (transportation provided by G.I. ferry). Battery Park 4-9:30pm weekdays, 1-9:30 weekends

Salary note: ** Includes pension and health. If an AEA actor works over 15 hours he/she is paid an additional hourly rate of $7.25 per hour. It will be $145 for a 20 hour week and $217.50 for a 30 hour week. The average AEA actor will work 20-30 hours per week and will generally be scheduled to begin after 4pm.

Journey with King Henry and his army from England (Battery Park) across the English Channel (New York Harbor) by boat to France (Governors Island) where the historic Battle of Agincourt will be staged in front of historic Fort Jay with the largest cast in our company's history.

Seeking a VERY DIVERSE cast. All actors must have prior experience with stage combat using weapons (not hand-to-hand only). Those who are coming in for French and Welsh (Fluellen) roles must audition in dialect.

1 actor to play Chorus:

Mid to late 40s, may also double as Montjoy (therefore has to be able to handle a French accent), a storyteller, compelling, has an ease with the audience and a twinkle in his eye.

Archbishop of Canterbury:

50s, holds highest church office in England, yet very politically savvy, very intelligent and book smart, more like Henry’s councilor than a spiritual advisor, advocate of the war with France, looks out for the finances of the Church.

Exeter:

40s to 50s, uncle and councilor to Henry, very wealthy, passionate, understands the language of politics, deeply devoted to the success of his nephew.

Gower:

40s to 50s, Captain, an excellent commander, experienced in war, well spoken, fair and honest, a favorite of his troops, councilor to Henry.

Fluellen:

30s, Welsh Captain, must audition in dialect, dramatic, an excellent fighter, very passionate and dramatic, extremely loyal to the king, is not aware that he is the butt of many jokes.

Bardolph:

Mid to late 40s, formerly a friend of the King (Prince Hal), smarter than Nym and Pistol, bosom friend of Nym, Lieutenant in the army, acts as the mediator between them, avoids fighting at all cost.

Nym:

Mid to late 40s, formerly a friend of the King (Prince Hal), Corporal in the army, low class, thief, loves to drink, worried about how he appears to others, formerly betrothed to Pistol’s wife, stubborn and holds a grudge.

Boy:

10 to early teens, servant to Pistol, Bardolph and Nym, smarter than those he serves and knows it, ambitious, has a sparkle in his eye, must be able to speak French.

French King (French):

50s to 60s, father to Dauphin and Katherine, regal, wise, understands history, cautious yet a soldier at heart, slow to anger yet determined, patient with his son.

Dauphin (French):

Mid to late 20s, brother of Katherine, regal, foe to England and Henry especially, hot tempered, proponent of fighting, vain, determined.

Katherine (French):

Early 20s, sister of Dauphin, regal, sheltered to the ways of the world, charming and elegant. Does not speak English. Actress with knowledge of French is a big plus. Submit union and non-union.

Alice (French–intern role):

Early 20s, maid to Katherine, funny, charming, smart.

Montjoy (French):

30s, Herald of France, politician, cool, composed, respected by Henry, and he respects him as well.

Duke of Orleans (French):

30s to 40s, close friend of the Dauphin, confident in the superiority of the French, strong, passionate.

High Constable of France (French):

40s to 50s, councilor to the French King, hates the English, supporter of the Dauphin, proud and confident of the power of French Army.
