Captain Billy Buck Chandler:
Male mid 20s - 30s, an aviator, must be easy going and charming as well as be an exceptional song and dance man. Must be a first rate tap dancer.
Edythe Herbert:
Female mid 20s - 30, English Channel swimmer, beautiful with personality and spunk. Must sing and tap dance exceptionally well.
Mickey:
Female, mid 20s – 30s, an airline mechanic/FBI agent, comic role, rough around the edges must sing
Prince Nikki:
Male, 30s, Russian character man, Very controlling, Owner of the Aquade, the female dance troupe, comic role, May also double as Achmed, owner of Arab Club Oasis.
Reverend J.D. Montgomery:
African American male, 40s. Preacher by day Nightclub manager by night. Full of personality and flair.
Mr. Magix:
African American male, late 50s +, elegant and debonair, owns Magix’ Emporial Shop to dress and advise Billy Buck Chandler in the ways of attracting Edythe’s attention. Must be an amazing tap dancer

Queenie:
40s, African American female. Maternal and Warm with great humanity, big powerful mezzo voice.
Parthy:
Caucasian female, late 40s -50s. Matriarch of ‘Cotton Blossom’; working class, a bit rough around the edges, a force to be reckoned with. Thou a nag to her husband, her love and concern for her daughter is her prime motivating force. Character singing voice.
Magnolia:
Caucasian female. Must be able to play 18 to 48 within the show. Strikingly beautiful, falls for Ravenal, brave with great inner strength and a glorious lyric soprano singing voice.
Julie:
Female Late 20s - 30s. Fair skinned African American or Mixed Race Ethnic, Worldly and glamorous the leading lady of the ‘Cotton Blossom’ who carries the weight of huge secret. Legit Mezzo Soprano voice.
Ellie May:
Caucasian female, late 20s – 30s. Comic character lady, wants to be serious actress. Strong dancer, part of the vaudeville team.
Frank:
Caucasian male, 30s. Strong dancer, plays villain on the show boat, but “meek as a lamb”, part of the vaudeville team.
Ravenal:
Caucasian male, 30s. Riverboat Gambler, Charming, handsome, as much a true romantic as he is a player. Baritone or lyric tenor.
Captain Andy:
Caucasian male, 50s, Captain of the ‘Cotton Blossom’. True old time showman. Warm, fatherly charm but not very practical. Playful and a bit of kid at heart. Character singing voice.
Joe:
African American male, 50s. Sings “Old Man River”, husband to Queenie, very paternal. Strong Bass Baritone singing voice.
