LAST DAY

by Richard Vetere
Director: Eric C. Engel

1st Rehearsal: 7/5/11. Runs: 7/21 – 8/7/11

Seeking:

Sean O’Bannon:

Mid to late 40s. Likable, easy going and wears his authority with a casual assurance. He is also less groomed and can easily gain weight. His pleasant features reveal a man who likes being liked and doesn’t like confrontation. It’s easy to see that a few decades ago he must have been a ‘beautiful boy.’ Everything about him reeks of being spoiled, sort after and desired. However, he had the jovial superficial behavior of just tossing it off as if it would remain that way forever. Foreman of the cemetery for the past 18 or so years.

Melissa

She is a pretty woman who has kept her looks despite having recently said goodbye to “forty” years of age. She is younger than both Ryan and her husband Sean. Melissa, no doubt once, a “beautiful girl” married the “beautiful boy” but grew up long before he did. She is wearing a bright loose fitting summer skirt and still wears her hair long, is feminine and does her best to be pleasant to everyone despite life’s daily hardships.

The following role has been cast: Ryan McCoy

FIGHTING OVER BEVERLEY

by Israel Horovitz

Seeking:

Beverley Shimma:

Is beautiful; once a bombshell, now, simply, lovely. She speaks with an accent that combines Northeast England (Yorkshire) and Gloucester . Early 70s.

Archie Bennett:

Englishman. He wears Norfolk-style jacket, belted, striped shirt, necktie. He is white-haired, weathered; speaks with working-class English North Country accent. Early 70s.

Zelly Shimma:

Ruggedly handsome, he has an artificial leg; walks with a pronounced limp. He wears a storm-coat, knit cap and scarf, over baggy cord trousers, baggy turtleneck shirt, baggy cardigan. His accent is North Shore Massachusetts “Pahk Yo'r Cah In Hah'vid Yahd”. Early 70s.

Cecily:

Is in her 40s; beautiful in the California style, thin and fit. In her beauty, we see Beverley's past. She wears all black: designer jeans, and layers of 100% cotton. Cecily’s accent is a mix of L.A. and Gloucester . There is a British influence on her speech, as well.
