1972
SEEKING:
Depot: ROLE IS CAST. A man who lives transiently after being wrongly incarcerated during which time he lost contact with his wife and daughter. A zen-like traveler who’s found a kind of freedom jumping freight trains. 30-60.
Pinto: ROLE IS CAST. A soldier just back from Vietnam who’s country sees him as anything but a hero. Sensitive, shell shocked with a quiet kindness. 18-35.
Eddy/“Doctor Don”: ROLE IS CAST.
Eddy: Escaped from a state school at the age of 16, cynical, hardened, conservative. 30-60.
“Doctor Don”: A “Doctor” who works for the mob, hyped up on drugs, gruff, theatrical, performative and totally unequipped. 40-60
Hannah: A vulnerable young woman in an abusive relationship. Open-hearted but on her guard, unaccustomed to kindness. 18-25.
Jane/Valerie/Lawyer for the Janes: ROLE IS CAST. One of the Janes. Strong, salty. 25-40.
Jane/Gwen: ROLE IS CAST. One of the Janes, energetic, committed. 25-40.
Demi: ROLE IS CAST. A man in the mob who handles the “doctor”. Edgy, controlling. 30-60.
Louisa: A young woman, a preacher’s daughter contending with an unwanted pregnancy, harboring big dreams of being the first woman on the moon. 17-25.
Harlan: One of the Janes, soulful, compassionate, wry humor. She carries a hard-won wisdom. 35-60.
Understudy: Male, 20 – 40. Offstage cover for Depot, Pinto, Eddy/Dr. Don, Demi. Proficiency with an instrument a plus.
