SEEKING

Equity actors for principal roles in Flat Rock Playhouse's 2023 Season (see breakdown). Flat Rock Playhouse is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. BREAKDOWN

Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical
mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas
are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.
Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the
extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and
dressing rooms.

The audition room can accommodate no more than 28 individuals at a time.

Ring of Fire — Small Cast Edition (Runs April 21-May 6) 1st Rehearsal April 4, 2020

TRENNA - Female identifying vocalist, doubling on acoustic guitar if possible.
JASON - *JOHNNY CASH role. Male identifying vocalist playing acoustic guitar.
DAVE - Male identifying vocalist playing electric guitar, banjo and fiddle.
EDDIE - Male identifying vocalist playing acoustic and electric guitar.
MARK - Male identifying vocalist playing bass (preferably double bass but electric bass can be used)
and various percussion.

M’Lynn Eatenton: Female identifying. 40-50’s. Shelby’s mother. Always knows what’s best, strong,
stubborn, the heart of the piece.
Ousier (Pronounced Weezer) Bourdreaux: Female identifying. 55-60’s. Wealthy curmudgeon. Tough,
eccentric character.

Fairy Godmother: Ageless, any ethnicity. An enchanting motherly figure.
Stepmother: 35+, any ethnicity. Cinderella's selfish stepmother. A vain and tyrannical climber. Deeply
concerned with status and image and entirely dismissive of her stepdaughter. Comic timing.
Grace: Cinderella’s awkward stepsister
Joy: Cinderella’s sullen stepsister
Christopher: a charming young prince
Lionel: his royal steward
Queen Constantina: his mother

Mark Anthony, 19-20 the youngest dancer who recounts the time he told his priest he thought he had
gonorrhea.
Paul San Marco, 20’s a gay Puerto Rican who dropped out of high school and survived a troubled
childhood.
Diana Morales: 20’s Paul's friend, another Puerto Rican who was underestimated by her teachers.
