SEEKING

Classic Stage Company is seeking actors for two roles in FRANKENSTEIN (See breakdown.)

Equity actors of all ethnicities, gender identities, ages, and abilities are encouraged to attend.

SM positions may be available. See separate notice on Casting Call for submission info.

PREPARATION

Classical or contemporary monologue that is no longer than 2 minutes.

A representative from CSC or an assistant to the director (as of yet TBD) is expected to attend the auditions.

This production will run in repertory with DRACULA, by Kate Hamill.

EPA Procedures are in effect for audition.

BREAKDOWN

Frankenstein / The Creature:
African-American/African, cis or trans woman; 30s – 50s. May be tall and/or full-figured, but she is physically and rhythmically agile, and very at ease and activated in her body. She is accomplished in her abilities to deliver heightened-language while remaining her authentic and innately powerful/vulnerable self. She is equal parts physical and spoken storyteller.

The Chorus:
White/European/American, cis or trans man; 30s - 50s. The Chorus will portray William & Elizabeth and other supportive characters through dialogue and music. Should be proficient in an instrument or instruments that can be played while at times simultaneously engaged, both figuratively and literally, with the actor portraying Dr. Frankenstein & The Creature. Instruments of proficiency might include, but is not limited to: violin, viola, African drums/percussion, accordion, saxophone.
