ELECTRA IN A ONE-PIECE is a brutally funny modern riff on the Greek tragedy Electra that re-imagines the bloody tale for our digital era. Elle, a 16 year-old girl comes home one night to discover that her mother Clyt has murdered her adulterous father and is burying him in the backyard. Armed only with a video camera, she videotapes the scene and uploads it to YouTube to alert her brother Ore, a soldier stationed in Iraq, and inadvertently becomes an overnight YouTube sensation. Urged on by the constant chattering of anonymous commenters clamoring for more, Elle and her family saturate the internet with videos, stirring controversy and piquing the interest of a savvy television producer with plans for a camera-ready bloodbath.
Seeking:
Elle:
Female, 18+ to play a 16 year-old high school student. Impressionable, insecure, and emotional, with a wild imagination. Intelligent while still being innocent.
Ore:
Male, 18, a soldier serving in Iraq. Young, brash, angry and confused.
Lad:
Male, a 19 year-old soldier serving in Iraq. Virile, manipulative, flirtatious. Cares deeply for Ore.
Thus:

Buddy Cox:
Male, 30s – early 40s, a slick and intimidating television producer. Ruthless and direct, a man of few words.
Male Chorus:
Male, mid 20s – mid 30s. Plays several roles, including an alcoholic housewife and a jittery Southern husband. Must be a creative comedic actor.
