BREAKDOWN
SEEKING:
KING TRITON - tall, early to mid 40s, a man of color, legit Baritone. Beneath his imposing presence and commanding nature is a concerned, harried single father of seven girls. Ariel’s father and ruler of the merfolk. He clashes with Ariel because they are both strong-willed and short-tempered, and he is increasingly skeptical of humans. He worries about Ariel’s desire to be human only because he loves her so much.
URSULA - she/her/hers, mid 30’s to mid 40’s, any race and ethnicity, a SUPERB comedienne, mezzo with excellent Broadway belt. The manipulative and cunning sea witch. Ursula is extremely calculating, deceptive, and shrewd. She is King Triton’s jealous, half-octopus sister who has been banished for killing his wife and attempting to usurp the kingdom. NOTE: Actors of color are encouraged to submit.
SCUTTLE - he/him/his, mid 20s to mid 30s, any race and ethnicity, EXCELLENT TAPPER and comedian/vaudevillian. Baritone. A loud mouthed, disheveled, and nonsensical seagull. He fancies himself an expert on the human world. NOTE: Actors of color are encouraged to submit.
