Seeking:
Imogen:
20-25. Daughter of King Cymbeline. She is truly luminous, vulnerable, and whip-smart. Though angelically delicate, she has vast resources of strength and real power. Actress should be terrific with verse
Posthumus Leonatus:
20s. Cymbeline’s adopted son: though not of noble birth, he was raised and educated in the King’s court. Has a black and white sense of the world that is challenged on his journey. Headstrong, but sensitive and naïve. Romantic but quirky; endearing. Young leading man.
Belarius:
60s. Cymbeline’s former General who was banished and kidnapped Cymbeline’s baby sons in spite. Though resentful of the circumstance that exiled him, he is content with the life he has built. The secret of his adopted sons’ origin wears on him as the play progresses.
Guiderius:
20s. The son of King Cymbeline, but raised in the wilderness with no knowledge of his nobility. He is rugged and earthy, but has a noble spirit. He is quick-tempered, impulsive, and a little rough around the edges, but good natured and sensitive. Must understudy Iachimo.
Arviragus:
20s (reads 16). The son of King Cymbeline, but raised in the wilderness with no knowledge of his nobility. He is rugged and earthy, but has a noble spirit. He is sweet, but with an air of sensitivity and vulnerability. Must understudy Posthumus.
Cloten:
Late 20s or early 30s. Son of King Cymbeline’s new wife. He is a braggart and a fool, but feels a deep sense of entitlement. He is spoiled and capable of real malice when he doesn’t get his way. Comic actor, but not a clown.
Storyteller:
Ageless and an Old Soul, she is the mysterious and ethereal storyteller. Plays multiple roles. Sings with a gorgeous voice.
