James:

60ish, ex-hippie who has become more reserved and closed off over the years. Estranged from his daughter and at a crossroads with his wife. Taking the class to support his wife and fill the class quota. Solid yet searching.

Marty:

50-late 50s (Marty is short for Martha) She's the teacher of the acting class as well as several other community center offerings. Emotionally generous, empathic, intuitive and perhaps a touch needy. Untrained and at times misguided but none the less a good teacher.

Theresa:

35 former aspiring actress. She's called NYC, the business, and her relationship quits and is starting over in a small town. Bruised and emotionally fractured but ultimately an optimist looking to rebuild.
