Men ages 20s-70s and one woman, 20s for John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. Role of

Preparation
Prepare 1 monologue. Sides will be provided for callbacks. Please bring photo and resume stapled together.

Other Dates
Sunday, June 2: 7-9pm per callback.

Theophilus North: First rehearsal 8/1/13; runs 9/6/13-9/29/13, weekends only
Of Mice and Men: First rehearsal 2/17/14; runs 3/21-4/13/14, weekends only

Theophilus North
Theophilus North: Male age 30. Sympathetic, charismatic, hopeful and idealistic.

Man 1: late 20s plays various roles

Man 2: mid-30s, various roles.

Man 3: 60s, various roles.

Woman 1: mid-20s, various roles.

Woman 2: mid 30s, various roles.

Woman 3: 50s, various roles.


Of Mice and Men
George: 30s, quick-witted and sympathetic Lennie's guardian and best friend. His friendship with Lennie helps sustain his dream of a better future.

Lennie Small: This role has been cast.

Candy: Aging ranch handyman, fears his age and loss of his hand makes him useless. Passive and dependent.

The Boss: Curley's father, late 40s-50s, superintendent of the ranch.

Slim: The prince of the ranch. Greatly respected, treats others with respect. Insightful, intuitive, kind, possesses natural authority.

Curley: The Boss' son - young, pugnacious, once a semi-professional boxer. Jealous, holds himself above the others, unsympathetic.

Curley's wife: Young and pretty, vain and self-absorbed.

Crooks: Black stable-hand, 40s-50s; gets his name from his crooked back. Proud, bitter, and cynical, yet sympathetic, funny and wise.

Carlson: A thick bodied ranch hand; 30s, hard and unsympathetic.

Whit: A young laboring man - strong, 20s.
