In our casting of Christmas Mubarak, our aim is to create an ensemble of eight actors that reflects the cultural and racial diversities of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. We aim to decenter Eurocentric depictions of Jesus and Mary by both honoring the Semitic roots of the three traditions and recognizing the breadth of each religion’s diaspora communities.
