Breakdown
KILROY—Late 20’s – Early 30’s. (Open ethnicity) A young American vagrant and former boxer. Well-built and fit. An athlete. Short-tempered, passionate, and prideful.
ESMERELDA— Late 20’s-30’s. (Latina) Based on the literary character. The gypsy’s daughter. She is beautiful and mysterious, but worn. She sells her body, but is childlike in nature. Spanish speaker a plus.
BARON DE CHARLUS—50’s-60’s. (Open ethnicity) Based on the literary character. Effeminate and sophisticated. His elegance has been worn down from his time on the Camino Real.
GIGOLO – Early to late 20’s. (Open ethnicity.) Male prostitute. Handsome, physically fit. Comfortable in his body. Aware of his sexuality.
DON QUIXOTE/THE DREAMER – 50’s – 60’s. (Latino) Based on the literary character. A mad beggar who believes he is a knight. Thin and worn, but clumsily vivacious. Delusional. Guitar skills are a plus, as well as the ability to speak Spanish.
