SEEKING
PAUL SHELDON: he/him, 40s–50s. A best-selling novelist, wry and privately resentful of the pulp romance series that made him famous, eager to be taken seriously as a serious writer at last. After a car crash on an icy Colorado road leaves both his legs shattered, he wakes to find himself the captive of a woman who calls herself his number one fan, and must find a way to survive her hospitality, his own fear and pain, and the story she insists he write for her.
ANNIE WILKES: she/her, 40s–50s. A former nurse living alone on an isolated Colorado farm, warm and folksy, quick to laughter and to a childlike delight in the romance novels she treasures above all else, but just as quick to sudden, unsettling swings into a darker temper when things don't go her way. She has nursed her favorite author back to health after a terrible accident and is thrilled to have him all to herself, but her moods turn without warning, and when the world, or the story, fails to go the way she wants it to, that darker temper is capable of real violence.
BUSTER: he/him, 40s–60s. The local county sheriff, easygoing and well liked around town, in no particular hurry about anything. A missing novelist and a string of small oddities catch his attention, and beneath his unhurried charm is a curiosity that won't let a loose thread go, even as it leads him closer to danger than he expects.
