Sunima:

Half-South Asian/half-Chinese woman, late 20s. Grad student. Sometimes flighty and frivolous. Scared of responsibility.

Naima:

Chinese woman, early 60s. A mother. Immigrated to US thirty years ago. Fierce, loyal.

Khalil:

Pakistani man, early 60s. A father. Immigrated to US thirty years ago. Weary. Loving, but has a quick temper.
