PREPARATION

Please complete the audition form and prepare a monologue of your choice (between 30-90 seconds) and a song selection of your choice (32 bars). Your audition should be no longer than 3 minutes.

SYNOPSIS:

Passions run high as leading lady Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, actor/director Fred Graham, battle onstage and off in a production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes high jinks, Kiss Me, Kate combines the irreverent humor of four brilliant writers: Sam and Bella Spewack, Cole Porter and William Shakespeare. Musical numbers include So In Love, Wunderbar, Too Darn Hot, and Brush Up Your Shakespeare.”

SYNOPSIS:

Named TIME Magazine’s “Best Musical of the Decade,” Billy Elliot The Musical, is a spectacular show with heart, humor and passion. Based on the international smash-hit film, and featuring a score by Elton John, Billy Elliot is an astonishing theatrical experience. Set in a northern English mining town during the 1984 miners’ strike, Billy Elliot is the inspirational story of a young boy’s struggle against the odds to make his dream come true. Follow Billy’s journey as he discovers a passion for dance that inspires his family and community... and changes his life forever.

SEEKING:

• Billy Elliot: (10-13 years old) A boy who stumbles upon a ballet class and develops a passion for dance. To him, dance is a way to feel whole and free himself from the problems of life. He finds himself stuck between appeasing family and chasing his newfound love. Vocal range: C5-E3.

• Dad: (35-45 years old) Billy’s stoic father. A widowed miner struggling with maintaining a household in lieu of a work strike, he is still deeply scarred by the death of his wife. Billy’s dancing initially sends him into a rage but he learns to support his son. Vocal Range: Eb4-A2
• Debbie Wilkinson: (9-12 years old) The ballet teacher’s daughter. A bit stand-offish and argumentative, her childhood crush on Billy leads her to constantly discourage him.

• Grandma: (60-75 years old) Billy’s eccentric grandmother. She is forgetful and a little aloof. Despite her inattention, she harbors a bitter resentment towards her dead, abusive husband but has found solace through dance. Vocal range: F#4-F#3
• Michael: (10-13 years old) Billy’s careless and fun-loving best friend. He lives in the realm of expressing oneself, going so far as to commonly dress in women’s clothing. Vocal Range: B4-A#3.

• Mrs. Wilkinson: (40-50 years old) The local ballet teacher who eventually becomes Billy’s mentor. Hardened and mouthy, she actually has capacity for caring when she sees promise in Billy. Believes in the power of personal expression through dance. Vocal Range: Bb5-Gb3
• Tony: (18-25 years old) Billy’s brother. A lazy but passionate miner. Hotheaded and scrappy with seemingly no regard of respect for his father, although he shares his disapproval of dance. Vocal Range: F4-D3

SYNOPSIS:

In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood — a place where the coffee from the bodega is light and sweet, the windows are open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. At the center of it all is Usnavi, a bodega owner dreaming of a better life, who watches as friends and neighbors chase love, success, and belonging. In the Heights weaves together hopes, dreams, and tough choices about which traditions to carry forward — and which ones to leave behind.

SYNOPSIS:

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is the delightful, feel-good musical that brings the beloved Peanuts gang to life onstage as they navigate the ups and downs of childhood in a series of hilarious and heartwarming vignettes. With catchy songs like “Happiness” and “Suppertime,” this charming show celebrates the simple joys, silly frustrations, and timeless friendships that remind us what it means to be a kid — and why you’re never too old to find the magic in everyday life.

• Sally Brown: CAST (Age: 6+; Vocal Range: B3-Ab5 or A3-Bb5) Younger sister of Charlie Brown who is quite smart and sometimes argumentative. Has a crush on Linus.
• Lucy Van Pelt: CAST (Age: 6+; Vocal Range: G3-F5 or F#5) Older sister of Linus Van Pelt. Cares a lot but tends to show it through bossy tendencies. Has a crush on Schroeder.
• Snoopy: (Age: 6+; Vocal Range: C3-A4 or A2-D5) Charlie Brown’s Dog. Comic relief and tends to act more human than dog-like.
• Schroeder: (Age: 6+; Vocal Range: A2 or Bb2-Ab4) Charlie Brown’s friend. A piano playing genius who loves Beethoven. Ignores Lucy’s obvious crush on him.
• Charlie Brown: (Age: 6+; Vocal Range: A2 or Bb2-F4) Older brother of Sally Brown. Perseveres despite many obstacles in his way. Fun and lovable character despite having many insecurities about himself.
• Linus Van Pelt: CAST (Age: 6+; Vocal Range: Bb2-E4 or A2-F#4) Younger brother of Lucy Van Pelt and Charlie Brown’s best friend. Though one of the youngest of the group, is considered the philosopher and smartest of the group.

WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME

SYNOPSIS:

Playwright Heidi Schreck's boundary-breaking play breathes new life into our Constitution and imagines how it will shape the next generation of Americans. Fifteen year old Heidi earned her college tuition by winning Constitutional debate competitions across the United States. In this hilarious, hopeful and achingly human new play, she resurrects her teenage self in order to trace the profound relationship between four generations of women and the founding document that shaped their lives. Schreck's timely and galvanizing play became a sensation off-Broadway before transferring to Broadway where it received two Tony Award nominations.

SYNOPSIS:

Irreverent, heartfelt, and hilariously unfiltered, Ball is a one-man musical journey through Max Wojtanowicz’s real-life battle with testicular cancer. From the soul-searching monologues, riotous songs, and tender letters to his lost “right ball,” Max invites audiences on a rollercoaster of fear, love, and unexpected humor. With music by a knockout team of local musical talent, this deeply personal show celebrates survival, the power of community, and finding humor in life’s darkest moments. Max toured Ball through Minnesota and the US from 2016 - 2019.
