Note: This is *not* a musical, but a straight play with music - choral singing and the occasional solo.

Seeking:

Charles Dickens

Caucasian man, Baritone, 35-50. A magician and narrator as well as a charming and versatile character actor. He should have a great sense of humor and be capable of establishing an immediate and ongoing rapport with audiences of all ages. Physical strength and manual dexterity essential. Will also play other various characters. Singing is a plus.

Mrs. Fezziwig

Caucasian woman, Mezzo-soprano, 40-50. Although described by Dickens as ‘one vast substantial smile’ and etched in the original by John Leech as a somewhat substantial figure, our Mrs. Fezziwig need not be ample in size, but certainly in personality. This actress will also play Mrs. Dilber, Scrooge’s housekeeper. Will also play other various characters. Singing is a plus.

Fred

Caucasian man, Tenor, 25-35. Scrooge’s nephew. Handsome, warm, articulate upper middle-class young man with a strong sense of humor. Will also play other various characters.Singing is a plus.

Belle

Caucasian woman, Soprano, 20-25). Scrooge’s early fiancée. A beautiful, vulnerable young woman who we initially see at one of the worst moments of her early life and again as a settled, happy, mature mother of considerable strength. Will also play other various characters. Singing is a plus.
