Tale set in 13th-Century England, woven about long existent techniques in the conjurations of both holy angels and evil demons. Involves a boy of nine followed to his seventeenth year, a profound Hebrew kabbalist, a beautiful witch and her mysterious daughter and a wicked bishop of the Catholic Church.
