RIVERDANCE Added to 2010-2011 Willis Broadway Series At Civic Center

The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines today announces a limited engagement of RIVERDANCE will return by popular demand Jan. 28-29, 2011 as a part of the 2010-2011 Willis Broadway Series as an optional add-on to the five show season ticket package.

They have traveled well over 600,000 miles (or to the moon and back!), played to a worldwide television audience of 2 billion; sold over 3 million copies of the Grammy Award-winning CD (certified Platinum in the US) and over 10 million videos making it one of the best-selling entertainment videos in the world! RIVERDANCE had its world premiere at the Point Theatre, Dublin, in February 1995, where it opened to unanimous critical acclaim.

An innovative and exciting blend of dance, music and song, RIVERDANCE draws on Irish traditions and The Combined talents of the performers propel Irish dancing and music to the present day capturing the imagination of audiences across all ages and cultures. The easiest way to ensure the best seats in the house is to become a Willis Broadway Series. The Civic Center will begin taking orders for renewals and new Season Ticket packages beginning May 24, 2010. Orders may be placed in person at the Civic Center Ticket Office (Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), by mail or online at CivicCenter.org. The Civic Center is encouraging current Season Ticket holders to renew online by waiving the $15 handling fee.
