Much to See in Des Moines this November

Stages in November will be abuzz with song and dance, laughter and joy. November highlights include Broadway blockbusters, family-friendly musicals, and a classic play.

Wicked kicked off at the end of October and continues into November. Wicked tells the story of Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, before Dorothy arrived in Oz. Wicked has been one of the most popular Broadway shows since its premiere ten years ago and prior Des Moines engagements have broken records. Wicked runs through November 10th. For a younger crowd Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr. staged by the Des Moines Playhouse is a perfect choice. Based on the classic Disney film of the same name, this production is full of songs from the film and other classic Disney tunes. Kids of all ages will delight in seeing a classic movie come to life. Tallgrass Theatre Company opens their 2013-2014 season this month with Neil Simon's play The Odd Couple. The Odd Couple is more well known from the movie and television version of the story, but in it its' original format The Odd Couple crackles with the pent up emotions of oafish Oscar and persnickety Felix. When the two become roommates, the hilarity ensues. The Odd Couple opens on November 1st and runs through November 16th. For ticket information visit Tallgrass Theatre Company.
