Des Moines Playhouse presents THE MUSIC MAN, 7/14-8/6

There's trouble in River City! Fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill (Brad D. Church) cons Iowa-stubborn citizens by convincing them to purchase instruments and uniforms for a boys' band. But his plans to skip town with the money are thwarted when he meets Marian (Katy Merriman), the librarian, and falls in love... first with her, and then with the town. "The Music Man" is Meredith Willson's tribute to his home state, and one of the Playhouse's most-requested musicals.

The Playhouse cast includes Luke Agey, Jonathan Allemagne, Dr. Kevin Allemagne, Madeline Rose Allemagne, Alice Anderson, Kelsie Anderson, JJ Binion, Leah Black, Kyle Bochart, Brian Bopp, Susan Breen-Held, Alison Buechler, Caitlyn Dean, BrIan Dowd, Jack Gabby, Jillian Michelle Gabby, Michael Garrison, Molly Hackman, Tyler Hackman, Melanie Hall, Charissa L. Hamel, Will C. Johnson, Greg Kephart, Elysa Koss, Keaton Lane, Jonah Larsen, Rob Larsen, Hannah Martin, Joseph Maxwell, Tess Meggison, Dean Messerly, Taylor Miillar, Preshia Paulding, Jennifer Phelps, Zechariah Pitcher, Taylor Rose, Maggie Schmitt, Najma Sharaff, and Connor Smalley. "The Music Man" is directed and choreographed by Steven Flaa, with musical direction by Brenton Brown.

The Playhouse is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
