Theatre Aspen's TRUE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS Opens Tonight
Award-winning Theatre Aspen, Aspen's only professional theatre and school, announces the opening tonight of The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!
This season's family production is The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!, based on the popular children's book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith. The Big Bad Wolf has his day in court in this thrilling courtroom dram-edy with music; the audience decides if he's guilty or innocent. Featured songs include "Piggsylvanian National Anthem" and "Cheeseburgers Ain't Cute." Book and lyrics are by Robert Kauszlic and the music is by Paul Gilvary and William Rush. The show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 10 a.m., with a special evening performance July 24th at 6:30 pm.
The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs! features Aspen's young local talent with Chris Carson, Lindsay Nelson, Flynn Holman, Zoe Levine, Kidd-Duhe Solomon and Luke Seamans. The actors are all Theatre Aspen School (TAS) students and this is the first time an all-TAS cast will be featured in a mainstage production.
Marjorie Mae Treger is the Director and Choreographer, with Paul Dankers serving as Musical Director. The creative team comprises Reuben Lucas (set design), David Thomas (sound design), Kyle Gavell (lighting design) and Production Stage Manager is Sarah Schultz.
Performances take place in the Alex Kaufman Theatre in Rio Grande Park and will be underwritten by season sponsor American National Bank, with Hays Private Client, Soledad and Bob Hurst, and Mandy Gray and Randy Work providing additional underwriting support.
