Theatre Aspen Director of Education announced today that renowned New York casting agency, McCorkle Casting, is sending Casting Partner Jeffrey Dreisbach to teach a Master Class to Aspen-area teen actors on Saturday, October 4th.

In addition to casting Broadway, Regional Theatre and Film/TV roles, Dreisbach regularly offers workshops to schools, colleges and universities that feature a "unique, practical, hands-on approach to acting as a profession." He specializes in audition technique, voice-over, acting for the camera, and more.

Graham Northrup, Director of Education with Theatre Aspen, commented on the unique opportunity Dreisbach's visit represents to Aspen-area students: "It's fairly rare that we get such high-profile casting professionals in Aspen, and this will be a great chance for students who are serious about acting, or even curious about a career in theatre, to get one-on-one coaching and feedback from an industry insider."

Dreisbach's Master Class is part of a six-week advanced acting course offered by Theatre Aspen School to Roaring Fork Valley teens, and is included with the students' tuition. The session will emphasize "cold-reading" and other skills that will help students prepare for upcoming auditions, including Theatre Aspen School's Winter Teen Conservatory production of Shrek the Musical, which begins rehearsal in the fall. The Master Class has limited space open to students who are unable to take the longer course for a $50 registration fee.

Theatre Aspen School's efforts to provide quality theatre education and access to industry professionals is supported by underwriters and donors, including Juliet Shield-Taylor and the Robins Foundation, and Jackie and Jerry Kehle who contribute generously to the organization's scholarship program. Theatre Aspen School has never turned away a student due to financial need.
