Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre Announces 2018 Season

LEAPIN LIZARDS! Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre is going to open the 2018 summer season with Annie starting June 8th. Based on a popular comic strip, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon. The beloved score features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including "Tomorrow" and "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile." With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts in 1930s New York City, and she's sure to charm yours. Annie is the perfect family-friendly musical for your Grand Lake summer.

Next, the company will open A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder on June 15th. A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is a knock-'em-dead, uproarious hit and was the most-nominated show of the 2014 Broadway season. When the low-born Monty Navarro finds out that he's eighth in line for an earldom in the lofty D'Ysquith family, he figures his chances of outliving his predecessors are slight and sets off down a far more ghoulish path. Can he knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught and become the second Earl of Highhurst? And what of love? Because murder isn't the only thing Monty's mind.... A Gentleman's Guide... is a murderous romp filled with unforgettable music, non-stop laughs.

Opening June 29th will be The Full Monty based on the cult hit film of the same name. The Full Monty is filled with honest affection, engaging melodies and the most highly anticipated closing number of any show. It's an aggressive crowd-pleaser that both entertains and grabs your heart.

While spying on their wives at a "Girls' Night Out," a group of unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo sees how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers. Jealous, out of work and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold and unclothed way to make some quick cash. The Full Monty is a story full of heart. Right to the end, audiences will be wondering if these lovable misfits will really pull it off. With a raucous mix of razor-sharp humor and toe-tapping pizzazz, this heartwarming, upbeat comedy is a must for your summer night out at the theatre.

Finally, the fall show, Pump Boys and Dinettes opens August 31st. The 'Pump Boys' sell high octane on Highway 57 in Grand Ole Opry country and the 'Dinettes' run the Double Cupp diner next door. Together they fashion an evening of country western songs that received unanimous raves on and off-Broadway. This musical revue celebrates and embodies the value of friendship and life's simple pleasures. When the inevitable "closing time" comes around, you'll wish you could stay longer. Come and enjoy fall in the mountains with the Pump Boys and Dinettes.

Mark your calendars, tickets go on sale starting March 7th! Call the box office, 970-627-3421, stop by the administrative office - behind the theatre on Vine Street - or go online www.RockyMountainRep.com.
