Welcome to Washington Heights - a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.
Director Rebecca Joseph's cast includes Alejandro Roldan (Usnavi), Marisa Dannielle Hebert (Abuela Claudia), Janessa O'Fallon (Vanessa), Jenna Moll Reyes (Nina), Vincent Smith (Benny), Carlos Jimenez (Sonny), Amy Luna (Daniela), Terra Salazar (Carla), Robert Payo (Kevin), Arlene Rapal (Camila), Jacob Villarreal (Piragua Guy) and Asad Clinton (Graffiti Pete). Rounding out the cast is ensemble members Mariah Borkowski, Haley Di Virgilio, Kerri Emswiller, BRandon Lopez, Gabriel Morales and Alex Quinones.
"In the Heights" opened on Broadway in March 2008. The production was nominated for thirteen Tony Awards, winning four: Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Choreography and Best. It was also a finalist for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
