On a US army base during World War II, a young nurse, Nellie Forbush, falls in love with a middle-aged French plantation owner, Emile de Becque. A troubled romance ensues as Nellie slowly discovers the details of de Becque's past. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Cable arrives to head a mission to create a spy post on a Japanese-held island and falls in love with a young, local Asian woman.

Favorite songs include "Some Enchanted Evening", "There is Nothing Like a Dame", "Bali Ha'i", "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair", and "Younger Than Springtime". The issue of racial prejudice is candidly explored throughout the musical, most pointedly in the song, "You've Got to Be Carefully Taught".

The cast, under the direction of Bernie Cardell, includes Sara Metz as Ensign Nellie Forbush and Ryan Buehler as Emile De Becque with Rob Riney as Lt. Joseph Cable, Janell Kim as Bloody Mary, TJ Hogle as Luther Billis, Ali Whisler as Liat, Rick Williams as Captain George Brackett, U.S.N., Ron Welch as Cmdr. William Harbison, U.S.N., Mika Fish as Ngana, Marissa Richards as Genevieve and Debbie Minter as Jacqueline.

The ensemble includes Joshua Bess, Linda Swanson Brown, James Bloom, Joe Von Bokern, Scot Cahoon, Tarika Cefkin, Alex Early, Meg Glatthar, Leah Hamilton, Isaac Harden, Laura Kimberlin, Adam Luhrs, DaNia Mortimer, Andy Nuanhngam, Rob Prytherch, Eddie Ricke, Stephanie Salinas, Joey Taczak, and Taylor Young.
