Parker Arts Announces Three New Series for 2016-17 Season

By:

Parker Arts is going into its 5th year of bringing arts, culture, events and more to the local community and it is still finding new and exciting experiences to present to their audience. For its 2016-2017 season Parker Arts has organized sets of select shows into series so patrons can find the "playlist of performances" that interests them the most.

Introducing the new Uncharted Music Series and Friday Night Jazz Series, as well as the return of Comedy and Cocktails:

The Uncharted Music Series challenges patrons to break the routine and explore artists and bands from off-the-beaten path! Concert-goers will discover the music of emerging talent, obscure genres, and sounds that are fresh and new to them. The journey to new music begins with some local talent from Fort Collins. Performing in a style uniquely their own, the four Colorado sisters of SHEL (Sept. 17) captivate with infectious indie-folk rhythms and hypnotic vocals that meld together their classical training and diverse influences.

This series will also include:
Nov. 5 Storytellers - A Night In Nashville
Mar. 5 Danú - Direct from Ireland
Apr. 15 The Hunts

Bringing a fresh flavor to Parker's Mainstreet, the Friday Night Jazz Series will feature some of Colorado's finest Jazz musicians in an intimate, yet casual, atmosphere. Leading off the cabaret-style jazz series, the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra and vocalist Heidi Schmidt perform tunes from the repertoire of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and many others in a performance celebrating The Great Ladies of Jazz (Sept. 16).

This series will also include:
Oct. 21 Brazilian and Latin Favorites
Feb. 17 Phröntrange - Acoustic Fusion
Mar. 31 Elevenet - The Music of The Beatles

The Comedy & Cocktails Series is back for the new season, headlining the best up-and-coming stand-up comedy talents from Denver and beyond. Taking the stage first is Deacon Gray (Sept. 17), a 30-year comedy veteran who has performed at the Aspen Comedy Festival, the High Plains Comedy Festival, and was the winner of the inaugural Great American Comedy Festival, held at the Johnny Carson Theater. The laughs continue on October 22, February 18, and April 1.

Parker Arts' 5th Season is just getting started and there is much more on the way, visit ParkerArts.org for tickets and more information.
