Park City Institute Presents Storm Large and Le Bonheur Today
Storm Large performs with her band, Le Bonheur, for the the Park City Institute at the Eccles Center in Park City, February 18 at 7:30 PM. The New York Times called her, "sensational." Audiences are captivated by her vocal chops, and the twisted and unusual approach she brings to every song she sings.
"Storm Large has the unbridled talent to work a room and weave a story, while singing anything from Cole Porter to Black Sabbath with rock-solid power and raw emotion." says PCI Executive Director Teri Orr. "She and her band, Le Bonheur, are redefining the way we think about cabaret, and we couldn't be more excited to have them perform for the Park City Institute."
Delivering a cabaret-style evening of standards, pop songs, striking originals and Broadway favorites, Storm and the band will create an "expect the unexpected" evening of entertainment.
First discovered in 2006 on the CBS show, "Rockstar: Supernova," Storm Large's finalist status garnered a following that launched her career. Hailed as "an intoxicating and unmissable cocktail of power and vulnerability," by The Times (UK), Storm Large is best known for her role as co-lead singer of Pink Martini. Her versatile talent has taken her from classical music performances with Oregon Symphony (where her shows have sold out for six years in a row), to Carnegie Hall with the Detroit Symphony, to singing with Grammy winner k.d. lang, pianist Kirill Gerstein, punk rocker John Doe, singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer George Clinton.
Tickets to Storm Large start at $29, with student tickets available, through the generosity of donors to the Park City Institute, for $5.
