Nikki Lane To Perform A Free Concert At The Wheeler For Aspen Locals

Critically-acclaimed country artist Nikki Lane is coming to the historic Wheeler Opera House for ONE-NIGHT ONLY on Saturday, March 9 at 7:30 PM. Nikki Lane is a musician lauded for her ability to reinvent 1960s country music for a modern audience. Lane's mix of orchestral arrangements, southern charm and vintage sensibilities earn her comparisons to the likes of Tammy Wynette and Nancy Sinatra, while her instinct for lush pop/rock could win over fans of Lana Del Rey and even Tom Petty. Lane's third and most recent album Highway Queen blends powerful lyrics with blues guitars resulting in a swagger-filled pop-country spectacular.

Lane believes that Highway Queen is an important milestone for her as an artist. "I was always a smart girl, always had to yell to be heard," she says, "But this was the first time in my career where I decided how things were going to go; I was willing to take the heat."
